Carmila Beach is an unspoilt paradise about 6km east of Carmila.
It is a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts who trawl the creeks north and south of this camping oasis.
The convenient three-day rest and camping area is between Rockhampton and Sarina.
Access to the campground is along 1.2km of dirt track and the last 700m is sandy and narrow.
Travellers will need to fill their vans before arriving at Carmila. There is currently no potable water available in the area for van use or drinking.
Bottled drinking water is available to buy from the nearby service station.
Before cane farming, the Carmila Range held the most unique rainforest in the world.
Today, there are parts of rainforest featuring a variety of plants, birds and animals.
Overnight camping at Carmila is charged at $14 per night for a maximum stay of 14 consecutive nights.
