Cr Rachel Anderson is a dedicated community leader and advocate for the Isaac region.
Elected unopposed in 2024 as Division 7 Councillor, Cr Anderson has a rich background intertwined with her upbringing, professional endeavours, and commitment to public service.
Her boundary extends across Valkyrie, Middlemount, Dysart, and Moranbah, areas she passionately represents and advocates for.
Cr Anderson has identified key areas of focus for the Isaac region, including infrastructure development, community services, and housing affordability.
She tirelessly works towards improving and maintaining essential infrastructure, advocating for high-quality healthcare and other vital services, and addressing the pressing issue of housing affordability to enhance the lives of Isaac residents.
Born and raised in the vibrant town of Moranbah, Cr Anderson cultivated her roots and educational journey before venturing into aviation. Inspired by her family's legacy in the aviation industry, she established MAS Aviation, an aviation ground handling business.
Prior to her involvement in local government, Cr Anderson contributed her expertise to prominent mining companies, where she held project roles, further expanding her skill set and knowledge base.
In addition to her professional and public service endeavours, Cr Anderson serves on the Engineering and Infrastructure Standing Committee and the Water and Waste Standing Committee. She is a member of the St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend Strategic Planning Steering Group, the Anglo American Community Reference Group – Middlemount, and the Road Safe Working Groups in Moranbah and Middlemount.
Cr Anderson treasures her role as a mother-of-three and cherishes moments spent with her partner, Russell, and their loved ones.
