We are on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Casual Pool Lifeguard to join our team at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre. In this vital role, you'll work closely with the Pool Coordinator to ensure all patrons have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. You’ll join a team of responsible, approachable, confident swimmers in supervising the pool and surrounding areas. Together, you’ll uphold the highest standards of care and safety to make sure our swimmers have fun, stay active and gain confidence in the water. Primary duties will include pool supervision, lifesaving, identifying and reducing risk and administering first aid.

Isaac Regional Council is keen to provide ample opportunities for the community, and so if you do not possess the right credentials, IRC will provide the training required to gain the qualifications necessary to perform the role.

About you:

  1. Demonstrated experience in customer service and a full understanding of excellent customer service
  2. Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the effective operation of a pool complex;
  3. The ability to provide adequate supervision of aquatic facilities to ensure safety of all facility users;
  4. Demonstrated ability to work both under minimal supervision, and as a team player;
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, including the ability to communicate and consult
  6. Current certification in (or ability to obtain):
  • First Aid and CPR;
  • Lifeguard and
  • Working with Children Blue Card.
  1. Willingness to work flexible hours as required, incorporating weekends and public holidays.

For this position we offer:

  • $39.57 per hour
  • Requirement to work rostered shifts
  • Must be available for accredited training courses
  • Must be located in Moranbah
  • Must be at least 16 years old to be able to attain the Lifeguard Qual
  • Must be able to be rostered on Weekdays between the hours of 2:30pm – 8:15pm & Weekends between the hours of 9:45am – 5:30pm.
