An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent part time Cleaner to join our Engineering and Infrastructure Directorate based in St Lawrence. Located approximately 155km south of Mackay, St Lawrence prides itself in its rich history, abundance of recreational activities and coastal lifestyle. Most known for its award-winning Wetlands Weekend annual event, variety of local wildlife, beautiful camping grounds and sporting precincts the town has to offer, St Lawrence is a great place for people from all walks of life to settle down.

Reporting to the Maintenance Officer East, the Cleaner position is responsible for providing quality cleaning services of Council facilities. Specifically, this position will see you undertaking cleaning of Council offices, buildings, fatigue accommodation and other relevant facilities to the required standard. Moreover, the successful incumbent in this position must be committed to ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An understanding of chemical and cleaning equipment usage
  • Demonstrated experience in cleaning and customer service
  • The ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment and/or behavioral testing
  • C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence

If you are successful in this position, we will give you:

  • Salary $31.07 per hour plus allowances
  • Nominally 15 hours per week
  • 5 weeks annual leave pro-rata @ 17.5% loading
  • Up to 13.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
