These positions are responsible for the operation and servicing of plant and equipment to support construction, maintenance, and urban works across the Isaac Region. As part of our Construction Crews, you’ll play a key role in delivering planned and reactive road maintenance, and construction projects. These roles offer work-life balance, job satisfaction, and the opportunity to be part of an inclusive, multidisciplinary team.
This position may involve staying in Council’s mobile camp facilities on job sites or staying in Council fatigue accommodation located within remote areas of Isaac Regional Council.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A minimum 12 months’ experience as a Grader Operator working on road construction and/or unsealed road maintenance, and a grader ticket (final trim would be advantageous)
- The ability to understand quality assurance documentation and complete works to the required standards
- The ability to thoroughly complete plant prestarts including basic maintenance requirements
- Experience repairing and maintaining plant equipment, including basic mechanical and general maintenance duties
- The ability to work in and assist in managing a multi-disciplinary team
- White Card (Construction Industry)
- Current MR Class Australian Drivers Licence
If successful in this position, we will give you:
- Salary $68,652.08 per annum plus allowances (including camp allowance when applicable)
- Nominally 38 hours per week (3x 10-hour days and 1x 8-hour day, Monday to Thursday)
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- Up to 14% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
- RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
