An exciting full-time, permanent opportunity exists for a motivated Purchasing/Stores Officer to become an integral part of our Corporate, Governance and Financial Services Directorate, based in Nebo.

Reporting directly to the Manager Contracts and Procurement, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of purchasing, procurement, and stores services across Isaac Regional Council. As part of the Contracts & Procurement Department, you’ll contribute to a strategic partnership that drives organisational excellence while enhancing our procurement and contracts functions.

The Purchasing/Stores Officer will facilitate the purchase and ordering requirements, receipt goods, process orders as received, and conduct stock movements and transfers. This role will also be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, conducting stocktakes and inventory reconciliations to manage and maintain an inventory system.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • A thorough understanding of the principles relating to supply chain planning, stock control, warehousing, inventory management and logistic operations;
  • Skills in using the Microsoft suite of computer programs, particularly Excel required for maintaining records and conducting administrative tasks;
  • Good level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Understanding or experience in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
  • Experience as a store person within a warehouse environment;
  • Forklift licence or the ability to acquire;
  • First Aid certification or the ability to acquire;
  • A current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence.


If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

  • Salary $72,508.28 - $79,607.52 per annum (Stream a, Level 2-3)
  • Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
  • 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
  • RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
