Call to dive into pool funding for mining and ag communities

Isaac Regional Council is making waves with a bold $8.7 million investment plan to upgrade community facilities across the region.
Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said investing in the liveability projects which promise to benefit residents in Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount and Isaac coastal communities, would pay dividends for the State economy.
“Our Council manage more pools and community hubs than most local government areas due to the sheer size of our region,” Mayor Vea Vea said.
“We are calling for political parties to invest in the liveability of the Isaac region, ensuring that residents, workers and visitors can enjoy accessible and sustainable facilities.
“With more than 22,400 people living among 17 unique communities and an additional 11,100 non-resident workers using our facilities every day, we need support to improve our aquatic facilities and encourage active lifestyles.
“Our region works hard to deliver billions in royalties to Queensland and our communities deserve to enjoy their downtime in better pools to restore their energy, so we keep delivering.”
Here’s the deep dive into the shovel-ready projects:
The Isaac region manages and maintains eight pools across a region that’s nearly the size of Tasmania. Visit www.isaac.qld.gov.au/advocacy for more information.
