Community focused executive set to lead the Isaac region

Isaac Regional Council has appointed Cale Dendle as the new Chief Executive Officer following an extensive recruitment process.
Mr Dendle was selected for his decades of local government experience, commitment to service delivery and proven ability to build a positive culture.
Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said she was pleased to appoint a community and people focused CEO after receiving unanimous support of her new council team.
“Cale brings a wealth of government expertise, understands the pressures facing regional councils and brings a wealth of knowledge to the role,“ Mayor Vea Vea said.
“We were incredibly impressed by the high calibre of candidates who applied for this role, and we are thrilled to have Cale on board.
“His high standards of transparency and accountability will set a great example for everyone and ensure stability for our operational team.”
Mr Dendle has held senior leadership positions across State and Local Government spending time as Executive Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Mining before continuing his extensive local government career as Chief Executive Officer of Livingstone Regional Council.
He has served Queensland communities for over 33 years across Central Queensland including in Rockhampton, Gladstone and Emerald.
Mr Dendle said he was excited by the opportunity to lead Australia’s largest resource council and was looking forward to moving to the region over the coming weeks.

“I am passionate about supporting the council to deliver some big projects and excited by the challenges and opportunities the Isaac region offers.
“Shelley and I look forward to settling in and becoming part of the Isaac community.”
Mr Dendle is set to take over the top job from interim CEO Ken Gouldthorp.
