Hazard reduction burns, Eastern Side of Moranbah
Published on 29 August 2024
Isaac Regional Council advises Moranbah residents of public safety vegetation management activities (Hazard Reduction Burns) behind Utah Drive, Croker Court and Lambert Drive, Moranbah commencing:
Saturday, 31 August 2024 from 7am (WEATHER PERMITTING)
This work is being carried out in consultation with the Queensland Fire Department (QFD) to control vegetation during the 2024-2025 bushfire season.
Please remove any personal items beyond your yard in the highlighted areas as fire operations will occur close to the fence.

Hazard reduction activity will be subject to prevailing weather conditions. Council advises residents to prepare for possible smoke hazards and related health impacts and recommends the following steps:
- Keep all door and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes.
- Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to remain indoors and have any medication close by.
- Refrain from hanging out washing to minimise damage from falling embers or smoke.
- Retract pool covers and stow any outdoor furniture to prevent ember burns.
- Be aware that snakes and grass rats may be on the move because of the burning bushland.
Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.
