Isaac Regional Council advises residents that an arborist will undertake tree trimming works to remove overhanging branches at Hoods Lagoon, Clermont on:

Wednesday, 18 December 2024

Flying foxes may be active during this period due to the disturbance, however it is important that vegetation management is undertaken to ensure the safety of users of Hoods Lagoon.  Works will be monitored by Council officers to minimise disturbance to nearby residents and some temporary closures around Hood’s Lagoon may occur.

Once the works are complete, Ivan Bettridge Park will be re-opened to the public.

Fencing will remain at Centenary Park until the colony has migrated and the trees can be assessed for branch fall risk.

Management actions undertaken by Council in urban flying fox management areas are regulated by the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science, and Innovation and will be completed in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and subsequent guidelines.

Council thanks the community for their understanding and apologises for any inconvenience experienced.
