Isaac Regional Council wishes to advise residents that the Clermont Historical Centre will be renamed as Clermont Museum.

The reasons for the name change are to enhance clarity and regional consistency, minimise confusion, and strengthen brand recognition.

Council is currently in the process of updating signage and will have the new signs installed shortly.

Council also advises the museum is unable to accept object donations as it focuses on improving the care and management of the existing collection.

Many items require preservation, and cataloguing is still in progress to ensure they are properly documented and cared for.

Council is actively working through a Collection Management Plan with guidance from Queensland Museum, and once key recommendations have been implemented, a review of the moratorium on donations will be conducted.

Council appreciates the public’s understanding and support to help preserves the Isaac region’s history more effectively.

For more information, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227), or alternatively email records@isaac.qld.gov.au.
