Two flood monitoring stations have again been vandalised severely impacting public safety at the following locations:

  • Funnel Creek on Sarina-Marlborough Road
  • Denison Creek on Oxford Downs-Sarina Road

The theft of the equipment from the sites means that the electronic road closure signs at Denison Creek and Funnel Creek will NOT be operational, impacting flood monitoring and public safety.

This is the second time in eight weeks this has occurred, costing up to $60,000 to replace and repair the damaged equipment.

The sites will remain offline and out of service until further notice. Information on water levels can be obtained from the Bureau of Meteorology website: http://www.bom.gov.au/

Report Vandalism:

  • Contact Council on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227) to report damage to public property.
  • Call police on 000 in an emergency.
  • For non-urgent reporting and enquiries, call Policelink on 131 444.

Your safety and the safety of our community is our top priority. If it’s flooded, forget it.

If you require further information, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227), or alternatively email records@isaac.qld.gov.au
