Water supply interruption, Middlemount, update #2

A temporary pump has been sourced from Mackay for installation tonight at Middlemount Water Treatment Plant.

This will allow water treatment to recommence following a pump failure this morning.

It is essential that residents and businesses continue to minimise water consumption until further notice.

A permanent pump has been sourced from Brisbane with an expected delivery and installation on Thursday.

Potable water availability remains at a critical level and low water pressure may also be experienced.

Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding while the critical repair work continues.

Council will provide a further update at 3pm today, 12 December 2023.
