Water supply interruption, Middlemount, update #3
Published on 12 December 2023
Water tankers from Clermont and Dysart are on their way to Middlemount to top up its water supply this afternoon.
It is vital that residents and businesses continue to minimise water consumption tonight as potable water availability remains at a critical level at Middlemount Water Treatment Plant.
As the temporary pump makes its way from Mackay, operators are now on split shifts to ensure an overnight installation.
Once the temporary pump is installed water treatment will begin at the plant at a reduced rate and tankers will continue to be used to supplement the supply.
The expected delivery of a permanent pump from Brisbane, at this stage, is Thursday, 14 December 2023. Water conservation measures will continue until the permanent pump is installed.
Council thanks the community for its patience and understanding while critical repair work continues. Council will provide a further update at 5pm today, 12 December 2023.
