Aquatic and Recreational Facilities
Isaac Regional Council is making waves with a bold $8.7 million investment plan to upgrade community facilities across the region.
Investing in the liveability projects which promise to benefit residents in Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount and Isaac coastal communities, would pay dividends for the State economy.
Council manages more pools and community hubs than most local government areas due to the sheer size of our region.
We are calling for political parties to invest in the liveability of the Isaac region, ensuring that residents, workers and visitors can enjoy high-quality, accessible, and modern facilities.
With more than 22,400 people living among 17 unique communities and an additional 11,100 non-resident workers using our facilities every day, we need support to improve our aquatic facilities and encourage active lifestyles.
Our region works hard to deliver billions in royalties to Queensland and our communities deserve to enjoy their downtime in better pools to restore their energy, so we keep delivering.
Here’s the deep dive into the shovel-ready projects:
- Dysart Swimming Pool: Making a splash with a $1 million investment towards children’s splash pads, low depth, and wet play areas.
- Middlemount Swimming Pool: Another $1 million to ensure Middlemount's pool is a top-tier spot for kids' water fun with splash pads, low depth, and wet play areas.
- Clermont Swimming Centre: A big fish in the funding pond, with $3.2 million set aside to install a heated learn-to-swim program pool as part of a master plan that promises to make waves.
- Isaac Coastal Pools and Amenities: Riding the tide with $1 million to improve facilities, focusing on disability access, change and restroom facilities, and refurbishing ablution blocks.
- Coastal Amenities Refurbishments: Staying buoyant with $1 million for upgrades along the Tourism Trail on the Bruce Highway at Clairview, Ilbilbie, and St Lawrence.
The Isaac region manages and maintains eight pools across a region that’s nearly the size of Tasmania.
