An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Trade Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in assisting our skilled Tradespersons with preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs across the Isaac Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the team in delivering planned and reactive maintenance services in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and fencing.
  • Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and hand tools and assist in correcting problems.
  • Report on installation and repair work to maintain accurate records.
  • Implement daily work tasks and promptly report any concerns to your supervisor with suggested solutions.
  • Contribute to estimates and programming of works for internal, external, and private projects.
  • Assist Tradespersons in providing efficient and effective services to various Council operations.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience with electric or battery-operated power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant Safety Acts, Codes, or Safety Regulations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Trades Assistant in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or painting is highly regarded.
  • Experience in general labouring and working outdoors.
  • Minimum completion of secondary schooling or equivalent experience.
  • Open QLD “C” class driver’s licence.
  • Blue/White Card.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment.
  • EWP and Forklift licences or willingness to obtain.

  • Salary $66,300.67 per annum + Allowances
