An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Plant Operator to join our Engineering and Infrastructure Directorate based in St Lawrence. Located approximately 155km south of Mackay, St Lawrence prides itself in its rich history, abundance of recreational activities and coastal lifestyle. Most known for its award-winning Wetlands Weekend annual event, variety of local wildlife, beautiful camping grounds and sporting precincts the town has to offer, St Lawrence is a great place for people from all walks of life to settle down.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Infrastructure, the Plant Operator position provides assistance with coordination, integration and delivery of services and the construction, maintenance and operational delivery of vehicles, plant and equipment across Isaac Regional Council. These vehicles, plant and equipment specifically include heavy-rigid water carts and rollers, for our Construction Crew as well as other heavy-rigid trucks and hand tools as required.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Knowledge and experience in basic mechanics and general maintenance
- MR Class Open Australian Driver License
- Construction White Card
- Level Two Traffic Management/Traffic Controller Ticket (desirable)
- Plant qualifications, e.g., backhoe, skid steer, loader, grader, roller (three tickets would be advantageous)
If you are successful in this position, we will give you:
- Salary $64,911.03 - $68,652.08 per annum plus allowances, including:
- Locality Allowance
- Construction Workers Allowance
- On Call Allowance
- Nominally 38 hours per week (3x 10-hour days and 1x 8-hour day, Monday to Thursday) – have a long weekend every weekend!
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- Up to 13.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
- RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
